“We wanted to establish a food business that was as sustainable as possible, building the vegan burger shack of our dreams. Our mission was to show plant-based food can be delicious and a little bit indulgent”
Sustainability is at the heart Wise Boys, from the 100% plant-based homemade burger patties, to their zero waste fully-compostable packaging and locally-sourced ingredients for their aioli and mayo (now stocked in boutique stores across the country).
The owner-operated food truck has been a much loved fixture across the country since being crowd-funded in 2015, when brothers Tim and Luke quit their corporate jobs in law and engineering to create a fast-food offering that was sustainable in the truest sense of the word.
Well on their way to offering the most satisfying eco-friendly fast food in Aotearoa, Wise Boys already has a number of accolades under their belt, including being picked as a finalist in the 2018 Sustainable Business Network Awards, a silver medal in the 2019 Outstanding NZ Food Producers Award and winning a place in the Good Food Boost mentoring programme.
In May 2019 the boys launched their first store in the heart of Grey Lynn to bring burgers to the people every day of the week.
