Humble Beginnings
Wise Boys started with a dream: plant-based burgers with no compromise on fun or flavour.
Brothers, Luke & Tim, both went vege with their diets and were frustrated at the lack of good options out there. So they quit their corporate careers, built a food truck out of recycled materials, perfected their housemade patties and sauces, and took their burgers on the road.
Permanent stores & supermarket shelves
It turns out they weren’t alone in their passion for indulgent vegan burgers, and in 2019 they made the move permanent and opened the original Wise Boys store in the heart of Grey Lynn. 2020 brought the second store in Commercial Bay in Downtown Auckland, in the heart of the city.
Since then, the boys have built a factory in West Auckland so they can pump out burgers and sauce across the country. Wise Boys sauces, dressings and burger patties are available in over 300 supermarkets and boutique stores, so now you can have the Wise Boys experience at home, too.
Award-winning Food
It’s not just our customers who’ve shown us love; the sustainability focus meant Wise Boys has been a finalist in the Sustainable Business Network Awards, and the products have won a huge number of accolades in the Outstanding Food Producer Awards, NZ Artisan awards, and the Food Awards.
It’s a simple mission really: good food that’s good for the planet. Yum.
